Anxiety, depression, and insomnia
At separate follow up points, 6 to 9 percent of the women stated that they experienced clinical levels of anxiety, 5 to 7 percent said that they suffered from depression, 9 to 14 percent dealt with insomnia, and 30 to 57 percent had issues with fatigue.
The researchers explained the value of this information, "this is the first prospective study to collect detailed lifestyle, quality of life, clinical and outcome information from a large population-based cohort of women newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It provides a valuable resource to identify relationships between potentially modifiable aspects of lifestyle and outcome in women with ovarian cancer."
