Iacovone Jr., M.D., FACC, FSCAI, FACP, continues to serve as one of New Jersey’s most trusted voices in heart health. As a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Iacovone brings unmatched expertise and compassion to the care of every patient.

A graduate of Rutgers College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction, Dr. Iacovone went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from UMDNJ–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rutgers and advanced fellowship training in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. His post-fellowship research at Cornell’s General Clinical Research Center focused on preventing contrast-induced nephropathy, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to improving patient outcomes through scientific rigor.

Dr. Iacovone has held esteemed positions throughout his career, including Chief of Cardiology and Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, a New York Presbyterian Hospital affiliate. In these roles, he helped shape the future of cardiac care by developing clinical protocols, mentoring trainees, and building programs that improved both access and quality of care.

He is an attending physician at several of New Jersey’s leading hospitals, offering advanced care in interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease.

His professional affiliations include Fellow status in the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and the American College of Physicians, among others. He holds active memberships in the American Medical Association, American Society of Echocardiography, and the International Society of Endovascular Specialists. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology, with successful recertification in each specialty.

Dr. Iacovone is also a seasoned educator and public speaker, having lectured widely on topics in cardiovascular medicine. His academic background is complemented by a profound interest in mentoring the next generation of cardiologists and advancing quality improvement in interventional procedures.
