Get to know Cardiologist Dr. John M. Ciccone, who serves patients throughout the State of South Carolina.

Dr. Ciccone is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular disease, and integrative & holistic medicine. He is an attending physician at Coastal Cardiology, PA, with offices in West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, and Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

Coastal Cardiology, PA is a group practice consisting of ten cardiologists who are committed to providing their patients with the most courteous, sympathetic treatment and the highest quality of medical care available. Their primary objective is to provide professional service that meets their patients’, physicians’, employees’, and community needs and expectations as a leader in the field of cardiology.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Ciccone received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School, and completed his residency at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. His fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology was completed at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, integrative & holistic medicine, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina, Dr. Ciccone can be found on staff at Roper St. Francis Hospital, and Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

As a testament to his success, Dr. Ciccone has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2011) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011).
