Get to know Cardiologist Dr. David E. Solarz, who serves patients in White Plains, New York.

A highly trained cardiologist, Dr. Solarz is affiliated with White Plains Hospital Physician Associates. His areas of clinical expertise include adult cardiology, advanced and nuclear cardiac imaging, peripheral vascular disease and arrhythmias.

White Plains Hospital Physician Associates (WPHPA) is a division of White Plains Hospital – a leading healthcare provider in Westchester County and home to many renowned programs and services. WPHPA was developed with the intent of aligning local practicing physicians with Hospital services. As a result, their patients can benefit from greater access to an expanding breadth of outpatient specialty services.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Solarz obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Health and Society at Cornell University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his internship at Boston University Medical Center. He completed his residency and Chief Residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at Boston University Medical Center.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In his professional experience, Dr. Solarz is an active member of the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Heart Association. He has written for Cardiosmart.org and Lifelong Learning for the American College of Cardiology, and has worked at the national level to reduce conflict of interest in national meetings. He also participated in the care of the New York Rangers hockey team.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Selected by his peers for the Castle Connolly Top Cardiologist for 2018 & 2019, Dr. Solarz has been the recipient of the Westchester Magazine Top Doctor Award (2018, 2019, 2020), Westchester Magazine Top Cardiologists Award (2019, 2021), and New York Magazine Top Doctor Award (2021). He has also been recognized by Healthgrades as a Top Ten Doctor, and has received the “Patients’ Choice Award” and the “Compassionate Doctor” designation.
