He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his internship at Boston University Medical Center. He completed his residency and Chief Residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at Boston University Medical Center.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In his professional experience, Dr. Solarz is an active member of the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Heart Association. He has written for Cardiosmart.org and Lifelong Learning for the American College of Cardiology, and has worked at the national level to reduce conflict of interest in national meetings. He also participated in the care of the New York Rangers hockey team.

The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
