Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Dr. Alvarez plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of dermatological professionals.

His journey to becoming a distinguished dermatologist began when he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2003. Following this, Dr. Alvarez completed residencies in internal medicine and dermatology at University Hospital in San Juan, culminating in his board certification in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology in 2010. His academic excellence, exemplified by graduating Magna Cum Laude, led him to become a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).

Beyond his clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Alvarez is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in renowned dermatology peer-reviewed journals. His commitment to community service is equally commendable, as he actively participates in healthcare initiatives to provide essential medical services to underserved populations, particularly the elderly.
