Dr. Boardman is a committed general surgeon with a vast array of expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures. After serving four years in the United States Army and receiving multiple military honors, he began his private surgical practice in Clermont, Florida in 2005. He joined Mid-Florida Surgical Associates in 2010 and has been a valuable member of the team ever since.
His special interests lie in the field of robotics and minimally invasive surgeries, which he uses to treat a wide range of conditions such as hernias, colorectal diseases, bowel, biliary, gastric reflux, endocrine disorders, and cancer of the breast, colon, skin, and thyroid. He is also experienced in treating venous disease for varicose and spider veins.
Educated in the United States, Dr. Boardman graduated with his medical degree from the New York Medical College in 1996, before completing his residency in general surgery at the Westchester County Medical Center.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Widely respected in the community, he serves as the Chief of Surgery at South Lake Hospital and is a member of the South Lake Hospital Foundation Board. He is also the President of the Lake-Sumter Medical Society.
