Autism Spectrum Disorder

I have a three and a half year old daughter that has had difficulties from birth. Sensory problems and Autistic traits along with constipation. It has been a really difficult time as no support has been given, doctors just kept telling me "Baby's can scream all day and all night/ Baby's can have feeding difficulties/ It is your first child" ...blar...blar....blar.....Heard it all, been up and down the doctors in tears, but being ignored due to my own Anxiety disorder. My daughter eventually got a compacted bowel and nearly died with Sepsis. Seven months on and rotting foul poo is still coming out of her, poor baby screams when going to the toilet as it hurts so much. It has been a hell of a journey, but we are getting there. I am now seeing a happier child, life is getting better now that her pains are not that bad. We plan to take her to St Ives for a lovely holiday that is very much needed by us all. I really feel that Autism is not understood by GP's and other health professionals as they have told me that her behaviour is completely normal? A MRI brain Scan has proven extra activity and white matter on her frontal lobes, which is evidence that i needed to get health professionals to listen. Nobody listens, children are neglected until it gets as serious as a compacted bowel with sepsis. Autism is difficult for children and adults to live with, no matter how mild it may be. It can be very exhausting. One thing i have realised is how strong i am, i can take a lot of stress. All parents with children with Autism are strong, and amazing parents. x
