What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

After my home invasion I suffered PTSD shortly afterwards my body began to get stiff, burning pain in my elbows.  Then my hips were to my feet would take turns burning and aching for many hours.  Fatigue was my name, lack of sleep to the constant pain and anxiety was debilitating.  One day I woke up after and totally lost the use of my hands to hold my phone and or put the kettle on the stove. I went to the doctor and said what is happening to me?  He replied with something neurological and prescribed Gabapentin.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

The doctor sent me for blood work to rule out Lupus and other forms of diseases they can find in your blood.  My pain levels than were in high gear all day long.  I continued to do research on the pain I was feeling.  I discovered each time I put my systems in Fibromyalgia kept appearing.  I decided to do a questionnaire and discovered that I scored very high and likely have Fibromyalgia.  I informed my doctor who had little to no knowledge about the illness.  I researched specialist and made a choice to see one that I picked out.  He was a wonderful person.  He completed an hour of questionnaires together and physical demonstrations to a little touching.  My tender points hurt when touched.

Upon learning about your diagnosis, what happened next?

I had trigger point injections for one year from both sides of my neck down to my shoulder blades.  These were painful; yet, the relief of pain for weeks was well worth the minutes it took for the procedure.  I went on Cymbalta 60mgs, 900mgs Gabapentin, 300 mgs Tramadol. Along with medical cannabis to add to the mix.  I decided to get off of these pharma drugs and relied on cannabis oil to get me through the rough withdrawals.  I currently take 40mgs of Paxil and 300mgs of Gabapentin.  Smoke/vape each day and only use medical oil on bad days, which I must say my bad days are less and less.  I give thanks to medical cannabis for saving me.
