The omega-3 study involved up to 460 patients who completed a diet survey. The consensus was if people consumed more omega-3 fats, the better their sleep quality. When they ate omega-3 fatty foods and lowered their intake of omega-6 oils, they had lower disease activity connected to their lupus condition.
There still needs to be more studies on the benefits of omega-3 fatty oils on those who suffer from lupus. Studies to date are preliminary and not yet published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Ardoin, however, claims that the findings to date prove that omega-3 eases any lupus symptoms. She further noted, that paying attention to diet and getting enough omega-3 fats is a sage move.
