That varies patient to patient based on healing. It is generally not recommended to drive until the epithelium is healed and the bandage contact lenses removed. That's usually five days after the procedure. Sometimes people have delayed healing, and it can take several days longer. Additionally, some people have a condition known as epithelial hyperplasia. When the epithelium heals, it heals with an excessive amount of cells and these can "stack up" on the surface of the cornea and create surface irregularity, which may decrease the quality of the visual image. Usually, with lubrication and topical medication this resolves quickly.
