Is myopia laser surgery painful?

I have myopia. Is myopia laser surgery painful?

Laser surgery itself for myopia is not at all painful. Post operative discomfort after PRK is common, but easily controlled with medication. The pain last about 3-4 days bu then subsides. There is generally no pain post operative discomfort after with lasik. In the long run, despite a few days of discomfort with PRK, it is a much safer treatment option than LASIK.
It's a general rule, Lasik is not painful. However, there can be some PRK related eye pain. Usually mild and involves grittiness, sandiness and some light sensitivity. Just lasts one to two days after a PRK. Steven Vale, M. D. President & Medical Director Acuity Laser Eye and Vision Center And InterMountain Eye Associates, P.C.
