Is Pain Acceptance Really A Thing?

Women in this successful study reported a vast improvement in their daily lives.

In a random trial of women between the ages of 18 and 55, there was no question that the participants benefited from ACT therapy.  Prior to starting ACT, the women reported that their pain was on the high side of the scale. Half of the women attended and participated in group therapy sessions for 12 weeks, while the other half were put on waiting lists and did not receive any treatment whatsoever.

The women who received the treatment reported a significant improvement in their daily lives and how they coped with their pain. This means that those with who received the actual treatment noticed that they were able to better cope with their disorder, making it easier to live a somewhat normal life.
