My nexplanon implant

My nexplanon implant for birth control has become infected (mostly at the insertion site) and I was wondering if this makes it less effective as a form of birth control? It’s red arounf the insertion site and I’m using an antibiotic cream

it should still be infected but you ,ay need oral antibiotics
Dont think less effective. You have antibiotic cream but may need antibiotics by mouth if it does not improve.
There is no worry about the effectiveness because of an infection but if this is your first one and it continues to be red, you may be allergic to it.
