A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

After moving to Northern Virginia to escape the cold winters and be closer to family, Dr. Austin served as chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Reston Hospital Center for a whole year in 2021.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.

Outside of work, Dr. Austin enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, running both full and half marathons, playing tennis, and reading.
