Navita Modi, M.D. is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG). Dr. Modi has been in practice for nearly Fourteen years. Dr. Modi is Board certified (Diplomat of American Board of OBGYN) and has taken certified trainings to perform minimally invasive surgeries utilizing the most current technology in the surgical arena – da Vinci and Olympus 3-D. Dr. Modi’s interests include strong commitment to patient education, research in women’s health care, and teaching. Dr. Modi has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of women’s diseases, especially dealing with the female reproductive system, performing advanced gynecologic surgeries, including diagnostic, emergency, and Urogyn procedures. Dr. Modi has an outstanding ability to provide care with emphasis on a holistic approach, treating the female patient as a physical, emotional, and social being. Make sure you clean yourself from front to back before and after sexual activity, and also your significant other, too. Also, make sure to visit your ob/gyn to r/o any infection and also r/o endometriosis. READ MORE

Is surgery the only way to treat uterine fibroids?
First of all, it depends on the size of the fibroids, and then options are OCPs, depo, and sometimes you can proceed with uterine artery embolization, but this option is only good for patients who do not want children, so you should get a sonogram of your fibroids and see your ob/gyn for options. How can additional UTI's be prevented?
You should stay on suppression therapy for UTI and also make sure to clean yourself and your partner before and after sexual activity. Also, try to use cranberry juice. READ MORE
Anterior Prolapse
You should get checked by an ob/gyn to see how bad the prolapse is, and also it should not affect your sexual activity, but if it is bothering you as a bulge, there are non-surgical and surgical options that can help to get it fixed. READ MORE
According to my latest scan, my baby is huge. Will it cause any problems in my delivery?
Make sure you do not have Gestational DM and also sometimes, if the baby is big, you may end up in a C-section. So, make sure you should have a thorough discussion with your ob/gyn about mode of delivery. READ MORE

Itching nipple, what is it?
Most likely, it could be contact dermatitis or a yeast infection, but to be on the safe side, I will advise you to see your ob/gyn for a clinical breast exam. READ MORE
I have a boil right at the entrance of my vagina. Can you recommend a topical cream for it?
Try to do sits bath or sit in a warm tub of water with some hydrogen peroxide in it two or three times a day. If that does not help, then see your doc for further evaluation. READ MORE

Not really, just make sure she eats a diet with good iron amounts in it and also she needs to take a multivitamin and calcium 600mg over-the-counter in it . READ MORE
Is it okay to get a tattoo done during prengnacy?
I would not advise it. Sometimes when people get a tattoo done, they get hepatitis C infection. READ MORE
What are the safest medicines for cold I can have during pregnancy?
Yes, you can take Tylenol for sinus and cold. READ MORE
What causes cramps during pregnancy?
Sometimes it is simply a sign of dehydration, or sometimes it is a sign of preterm labor. Please drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day and also avoid sexual activity. If cramps continue, then you should see your ob/gyn. READ MORE
Is it periods or implantation bleeding?
Looks like it is your period, but to be on the safe side, you can visit your ob/gyn and do a blood pregnancy test. READ MORE
Is it normal to get back pain before periods after my C-section?
Yes, it is quite normal. I would apply heating pads or use Motrin for the pain. READ MORE
Will my pregnancy leg pain get better after delivery?
In pregnancy, people develop restless leg syndrome, or it can be sign of anemia. You should get a CBC done by your doctor sometime. Check with your doc if she can put you on some medication for restless leg syndrome. READ MORE

Pertaining to her educational background, Dr. Modi received her medical degree from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in 1996. Thereafter, she went on to complete her residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. in 2004.

Shortly thereafter, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and critical care medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Ohio State Medical Association. She attributes her success to her passion for continuing her education while receiving support from her family.

Obstetrics and gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
